The Allensen Family is in a hard situation, too difficult for most of us to imagine! They have a mentally and physically challenged 15-year-old son, Wyatt, who is wheelchair bound with cerebral palsy, and Sean Allensen (the father), a talented carpenter who ran his own construction company who has been recently diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Since then his control over his body has declined dramatically.
The Allensens live in Cambridge, Ontario, one of the three Cities of Canada's Technology Triangle together with Kitchener and Waterloo. Sean's wife Allison has had to give up her job to take care of Sean. She has also been denied unemployment insurance while she cares for her dying husband and her two sons.
